All together at last for a paddle to Bruny Island
26th Sept, 2009
It was a stroke of luck that we managed to have such good conditions for this paddle as the following day the conditions were off the show!
The three of us meet at 6:50 am and were on the water just after 7:00 am for a paddle to Bruny Island. We had no specific point on the island set as our turning point, so we just kept paddling for an hour and a half. In that time we managed to comfortably reach Bull Bay, which is on the north eastern side of the island. Along the way we saw some seals playing out in the entrance to Storm Bay, and we observed a Sea Eagle who was apparently not welcome amongst the Sea Gulls.
The Eco Bezhigs performed very well, with our average speed for the trip just under 9kms/hr.
